On the second Tuesday in September at 8:46-10:28 am nine years ago, something bad, really bad happened. Destroying and moving down many people's best friend, lady, man, father, mother.Leaving the unpleasant pain behind in every minds, every hearts. Until now.
from Wikipedia:
The September 11 attacks (often referred to as September 11th or 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attack by al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11, 2001. On that morning, 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C.
What a tragedy leaving such a gap between America and Islam world. Although the winner of the 56th quadrennial United States Presidential Election, Barack Obama, promulgated to make a change and appreciate Islam in America, it didn't make sense with people who got really bad pains by the 9/11 incident. Even not all of them show that misanthropy (with the bad people who attacked the twin tower) unreservedly, there're still the repulsions, contemning, and scowl view and attitude about Islam and the moslems.
On August 2010, Obama announced that he supported the right of the construction of the mosque at Ground Zero, New York. And of course, there're so many people refusing and bawling out that decision. According to the official twitter account of Bill Maher (American comedian, television host, social critic, political commentator, author and actor), he tweeted "Maybe if America had BUILT SOMETHING in the last 9 yrs at Ground Zero people wldn't be so touchy about the mosque going up there." And it's tweeted by more than 100 people. And many of those people don't feel comfort with the ground zero mosque because of the evocative 9/11 incident.
On September 2010, the pastor from Florida, Terry Jones, planning to burn many copies of Muslim Holy Book on September 11. Although many people, including Vatikan and American government forbid his action, Terry Jones is sticking to his plan, he holds true his action and considers it as a message to radical Islam.
I don't know whether Jones has thought about the risk is going to happen if he really makes it true. It must make all the Muslim all over the world get warmed up and so indignant. There will be so many war threatening between Muslim and Anti-Muslim rhetoric. And if it really happened, where on this Earth I can live peacefully?
I personally don't understand completely about the 9/11 tragedy which underlaid those bad things. I was not there when it happened, and i had no family who fell victim to it. So i don't know how it feels like, for missing people i love so much. But in my deduction, according to all of those incident occurred after 9/11 tragedy, it must be so bad unforgettable time.
As a Muslim, i truly disappointed with what they (people who admitted as a muslim and jihad as a reason for killing non-muslim people) had done. As i learned in school, there's no command to do such an ill mannered, to kill who are not muslim, to shoot the innocent people who wanted to feed their children in the morning on September 2001. What they got after doing such a thing was not a triumph or victory proving Islam was the right religion but the denigration of Islam itself as if Islam had been all about terrorism and violence. And the fact is, Islam doesn't make muslim do violence and terrorism, it teaches people to appreciate other religion in peaceful world.
In the other hand, i truly regret with what Terry Jones is going to do, burning the Quran. Methinks, it doesn't make sense to create a better condition. What he's gonna do just makes wars and opens the bad memory that should be forgotten. And as a Muslim, I utterly oppose that action which brings Islam down. And I believe, in every religion, there's no command to do such a thing that pull the honorary of other religion down.
There's no use for doing those, I think. Lit into each other, name calling, tot for tat, and mutual rating, it doesn't make any favor to make a better world, a better life. Just appreciate each other and don't compel other to believe what you believe. Because we live in the same world, we are mutually interdependent. And if we do it all, oh what a world!
